Today Grover Tweeted:
Grover: Gordon said he made a phone call on his Bluetooth. I do not understand. Gordon does not have blue teeth!
Then he said
Grover: …I also did not know teeth can make phone calls! Go figure…
That made me laugh!
and then i remember my Friends Facebooking about her daughter
Mom: I packed you Blackberries in your lunch
Daughter: you packed a phone in my lunch?
Mom: NO the fruit!
Just a few things that made me giggle. The weekend is so close i can taste it!
Being a working unattached mother can be a little challenging at times, so i'm always looking for the best way to eat, cook, clean and maximize time with my Baby Bug while keeping the bills paid. I'm gonna start to share my experiences in accomplishing all that while sharing about my experiences and growing as a mother. Maybe someone will laugh, cry, or even learn something from my experience...Enjoy!

James 1-19:28
Today one of my friends posted a bible verse on Facebook. I looked it up and read the passages before and after it and it brought a lot of things that have been running through my head clarity. a took a sigh and breath after reading this and said "i hear you Lord". Now weather or not i be disciplined will be the journey i now start.
I thought i would share it with on here today, someone might need it just as i did...
James 1-19:28
I am always sharing that I have had (and continue to have) so many people directly vocalizing what i should and should not be doing that it gets over whelming at times. So many people consistently text, email, call and make it a point to have face to face conversations with me about what i should be doing that i have wanted to go from telling the truth one minute onto fibbing the next. I get so tired of everyone else not trusting in me, and the fact that i am walking in faith that many times i sat and concocted the greatest story, in my head to myself of course, about having a one night stand in Vegas and not knowing who my child's father is, just because i know that will be "accepted more" by those who do not agree with what i am currently doing. Seriously i have, but i have always stuck with the truth ended the conversation and left it at that, they accepted it or not its not my issue to get them to understand.
The sit back listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry just reminded me to breath. Right on time for me so maybe it will for someone else too. Its not just my own understand but its from a Good Book i once read (thanks Narchelle for that saying!).
Everything in this passage solidifies what i am doing in my situation is what i need to be doing. I will continue to listen, smile, pray and let others vocalize what they need to but in faith stay optimistic and faithful about where i am lead without letting it affect me in an uproar.
I can only speak on what i am doing, but maybe me reading this passage at the right time and sharing it will help someone else in a situation they are in. It helped me just in time when someone else shared...

James 1-19:28
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Keep your Twelve Cents
I have not been a mom that long BUT i have been one long enough to know that not everyone does this "mommy thing" the same. Not even moms who have multiple kids do their mommy thing the same with every child they have. Its impossible, because every mommy is different and every child is different.
When you say it, it seems simple enough to understand, but i do not think you really understand it until your in the "mommy thing".
Lately i have been running into a lot of people, mainly non-mommy people, assuming because the one mommy they are around does things one way i should be able to adapt and do it the same as what they have seen. When they neglect to see im not that conforming person. With out being a mommy i was never the person to just conform because of what someone else was doing. Now that my Bug is in the picture i sure as heck wont change the routine and regiment i have set for my child just because someone they know does something a certain way.
For example, not all kids nap but those who do nap NEED naps. If im around people whose kids do not nap I LOVE how they just assume my Bug will function with out a nap because their kids do. It gets even better when i am trying to explain i will be altering plans to give my Bug what he needs as every cause has an affect and a no napping Bug does not have a positive affect in anyone's case. And they still do not listen to me as if i am not his mom and havent been with him every day since birth! LOL Then it tops the cake when they get agitated when stay true to my word and stop to give my Bug what he does need like letting him nap. Attitudes, actions, words are giving like i am throwing a wrnech in their plans and should have just done what they wanted and kept going.
Not only the non mommies expect stuff of you either. Those who have done the mommy thing give their crazy input as if i am suppose to do it their way as well! I know i am new, i know i am learning BUT my situation as an unattached mother is not like one you see on some after school television special. I am not choosing to do what i am doing built on a whim nor do i take any decision i am faced with lightly. I keep my situation in prayer, and keep moving forward. I LOVE how everyone gives me their two cents on what i need to be doing and SPECIFIC direction on how i should be doing it as if i am a flighty, uneducated lady.
It took a while but have QUICKLY learned the ONLY thing that matters is me being the best mom i can be to my Bug. At the end of the day that's all that matters. People who cant understand especially those who aren't in this "mommy thing" yet have to see that he is my focus. I will continue to pray, and work my butt off to be the best mom i am capable of being. If that means isolating my self away from some, or putting my foot down and doing whats best for my Bug i will no matter the cost.

Pudding Paint
I remember being in Tiny Tots and Kindergarten finger painting and having a blast! We didn't just finger paint but the teacher would take shaving cream and put it on our desks and let is go to town drawing and coloring all over the desk. When we were done painting the mess just wiped up and we went on our merry little way.
Well i wanted to do something similar with my Bug this weekend, except he is to little for shaving cream. My main thing was I didn't want him to put it in his mouth. I know I'm not the smartest woman in the world BUT I'm pretty sure he is not suppose to be ingesting shaving cream. So i got to thinking what could he eat that had a fun gooey consistency that he could play with...PUDDING!
SO...I bought some cheapo Walmart brand vanilla instant pudding for cents, used some Lactose free milk, and divided our pudding into four dishes. I added food coloring into each dish so we had four colors to play with.
At one point he plopped a hand in the pudding paint and i thought things were about to get messy but then he would not use the hand to paint he just left it in the air and painted with the other hand using his straw. So that was clearly an accident
Then we got to the point of tasting it. I was glad at this point that i had made this stuff from pudding and didn't use finger paints.

Then i put my Bug in his chair and let him explore the possibilities. Now he would of had more room to paint if i would have sat him at his table but i like my walls white so he had just as good of a time in his high chair!
He was not to sure about this stuff at first...
He kinda just sat there looking at it. SO i gave him a straw i cut up to use as a paint stick, or whatever and he used it to taste our edible finger paints. (if you look close you can see the flower i made out of our pudding paint before Godzilla destroyed it)

I had about half of each container full of pudding still so i put on the lids and put them in the fridge.
All in all this was a fun activity. It only took about 7 minutes to prep, and cleaned up quickly. I'm always looking for things to keep my Bug busy especially during rainy days when he cant go out side, and this one is one we will be doing again.

Eat your food Bug!
Today is not my Bugs day!
He refuses to eat and keeps signing that he wants milk. I refuse to fill him up with just liquid. So if we both refuse I am determined to win!
I have made popcorn chicken, baked fries, green beans, spaghetti, and lil smokies. I even gave him a few ounces of milk but not enough to fill him up and he wants to only drink and not eat so I won't give him more milk till he eats something off his plate.
So naturally he is walking around hanging on me crying. He signs milk and sign eat back and his cry gets louder...its actually kind of comical.
Then a moment ago he threw a mini fit but in a big boy way. He walked in his room still crying closed his door, got in his bed and started balling. He finished crying grabbed a toy, opened his door as if everything was ok because he was in a bad dream.
He played with his toy for a moment, looked at his sponge bob cup half way full of water and his plate and then signed milk. I signed eat back to him and the crying started back up as he ran in his room.
This kid is 21months doing this stuff, if this is the preview to the terrible 2's laughter better stay with me to get me through!
Oh and in the time it took me to write this he came out, sat down and started eating...doing it slow as if he is protesting but gosh darn it we are doing it. Food makes me happy so its hard to fathom someone who protests it so much! Especially when you have so many options.
Well now I'm off to tell him he is doing a good job...

How im learning to sneak veggies in...
Beef Broccoli BOMBED fail #32 in the food department
I even tried to get him involved in the making of the dish to make it more appeasing. I washed and cut the brocolli and had him throw each one in the pan and help stir it up...but when it came time to eat it he spit it out and then scrapped his tongue with his little hand in disgust. This is my Bug we are talking about and since he is my spawn he has to be a little dramatic to give you the full the effect that he didn't like what was in his mouth.
So onto veggie spaghetti. I knew he already loved spaghetti, but now i was gonna be sneeky MWUAHHHAAAA and pack his spaghetti with so many veggies and hid them in every bit! IT WAS A HIT! he ate the entire bowl and didn't even know he got an UBER amount of super good food for his little body.
Heres how i did it...
Veggie Power Spaghetti
8ounce pasta stars or mini shells
2 Tomatoes
1 onion
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 italian squash
1 yellow squash
1 zuchinni
1 can of salt free tomatoe sauce
1 jar of Ragu
1 lb ground Italian turkey
1 turkey polish sausage (optional, but my Bug loves meat so i usually do two meats)
Place one onion in my Pampered Chef AMAZING chopper, then place it in a large pot with my Italian ground sausage. Brown or cook fully through. While that is cooking i chop my polish sausage in quarter chunks and brown in a separate pan.
While my meat is cooking i use my AMAZING chopper and FINELY (they have to be chopped fine b/c he cant see or taste them!) chop all my veggies and ad them one large bowl. When my onions are translucent and my meats are cooked i add them in the one large pot. Then i toss in all my finely chopped veggies in the pot to cook for a few minutes just to get all the veggies tender. Then i add in my Ragu and my can of tomato sauce. I learned making spaghetti you can make the sauce stretch by adding in a can or diced tomatoes and/or tomato sauce...i love that!
When my sauce is done i split it, i freeze half the sauce and save for dinner another night. Cook the pasta and drain DO NOT WASH. If you wash your pasta once its cook you wash off the starch that helps the sauce stick the pasta. Then I add in the cooked mini pasta shells or stars and serve. It may look like a lot of sauce but over night spaghetti soaks up sauce to me.
